Episode 16: MLB Network’s Heidi Watney On The Rivalry, Her Studio Gig And More

As the Yankees wrap up the final home stand of the regular season and second-to-last series against the Red Sox, we welcome current MLB Network studio host/field reporter and former NESN Red Sox reporter Heidi Watney to the podcast. Watney covers everything from her gig at MLB Network to the front row seat (or rather, spot in the camera well) that she held at both the old and new stadium for sports’ biggest rivalry. Plus, Watney talks about the charity events for both Derek Jeter and David Ortiz’s foundations that she’ll be attending this year and what her postseason assignment is for MLB Network.

Thanks again to Heidi for giving us so much of her time and such great answers and insight in to her experiences with a regional sports network and MLBN. And of course, thanks to you for rating, reviewing and subscribing wherever you get podcasts!

Episode 15: Judge Injury Update, New Stadium Wine Bar, Ballpark Pass And Postseason Tickets

After a hiatus, the podcast returns but obviously it isn’t the most anticipated comeback in Yankee Universe. While reports emerge that Aroldis Chapman is close to pitching a simulated game and possibly rejoining the team, all eyes are on Aaron Judge. The power hitter has taken on-field batting practice the last three days (two as of this episode’s taping). With how spot on he was in his analysis last time, we asked physical therapist Jimmy McKay, Director of Communications at Fox Rehabilitation and host of the “PT Pintcast” back on to the show. He’ll break down the typical next steps and expectations with an injury like Judge’s.

Then, I talk about a few other items of interest for fans: what we can expect from the Yankees after the Ballpark Pass was offered for a second consecutive month, the new City Winery Wine Bar behind section 106 and the implementation of Ticketmaster’s “Verfied Fan” platform for Yankees postseason ticket sales, which kick off Thursday morning.
