Episode 24: SeatGeek, New Bars, 5Ks, Rain Delays Oh My!

Yours truly flying solo for episode 24 with a plethora of information in an abbreviated episode. I’ll tell you what it was like in the ballpark Monday for the rain delay/postponement of the game (and how I knew they weren’t playing), my new go-to bar on River Ave., why I bought from SeatGeek the other night and much more!

Also – a quick chat about the fantastic Damon Runyon Cancer Research 5K in Yankee Stadium last weekend. I ran it again this year and had a blast while of course celebrating a great cause.

As always, thank you for rating/reviewing/subscribing and let’s go Yankees!

Episode 21: Christopher ‘Mad Dog’ Russo!

Fair warning: this may be my favorite episode yet.

Award-winning sports talk personality Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo joins our podcast. Doggie called in from his office in Manhattan before hosting “High Heat” on MLB Network and “Mad Dog Unleashed” on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio to chat about New Yankee Stadium versus the old House That Ruth Built. There was a specific reason why we brought up the question; it in part plays in to our 10th anniversary content around the new Stadium. But, there was also another reason, which we mentioned to Russo at the beginning of our chat.

The “Mad Dog” also chatted about some of his favorite ballparks in baseball and MLB allowing him creative freedom for his daily program.

You can catch that program, “High Heat With Christopher Russo” weekdays at 1 pm EST. “Mad Dog Unleashed” airs weekdays at 3 pm EST on SiriusXM.

Thank you for rating/reviewing/subscribing. A special thanks to MLB Network for coordinating this guest spot – good job ‘outta them!

Episode 19: StubHub Ticket Floors, ‘New York, New York’

In Episode 19 of Season 2 we first discuss the “ticket floors” that the Yankees set with StubHub – these are minimums that different tickets can be sold for. It’s good to know so that you’re not waiting for a ticket to drop to a price that it simply can’t; it’s also good to know so that you can plot the best value for your budget.

Also, we’ll talk about “New York, New York” – as in the song. I’ll give a little background on its relationship with Yankee Stadium and a surprise guest will talk about it and perhaps more specifically, the drama surrounding it last postseason.

As always, thank you for rating/reviewing/subscribing!

Episode 13: Baseball HOF’s Jon Shestakofsky On Induction Weekend FAQs And Much More!

With the Yankees celebrating the 20th anniversary of the famed 1998 squad this weekend at the Stadium, I thought it would be rather timely to talk with our friends in beautiful Cooperstown, New York. After all, there are two core members of that team who will undoubtedly be first ballot Hall of Famers; Mariano Rivera is up for induction in 2019 and Derek Jeter follows in 2020.

Jon Shestakofsky is the Vice President of Communications and Education for the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. He does a great job here of filling you in on everything you need to know for an Induction Weekend upstate. Plus, Jon sheds some light on current Yankees who are represented in the Hall’s exhibits, how the HOF obtains memorabilia and what it was like to watch the game’s biggest rivalry from the perspective of the Nation; Shestakofsky came to the Hall from the Red Sox organization, where he worked parts of nine postseasons and most recently served as Manager of Media Relations and Baseball Information for the team.

Thank you to Jon for giving us so much time and another great episode – hope you feel the same way. If you do, be sure to rate/review/subscribe wherever you get us. Thanks!

Episode 09: OBJ Update, Best Drinks In The Stadium And Sit In A Suite!

Covering a lot in this episode-and-a-half of the Pinstripe Lanes Podcast – thanks for waiting a little over a week. Guest-host Mike Isserlis is back and we update you on the Odell Beckham Jr. / Yankees jersey and relationship story – one which we really had the lead on last week. Then, we talk about the best deal for cocktails in the Stadium. Finally, have you always wanted to sit in a luxury suite at the ballpark? The charitable opportunity we stumbled across may be your best bet.

Thanks for listening and rating/reviewing/subscribing wherever you get podcasts!

Episode 07: Citi Field All-You-Can-Eat, Putting Old Yankees Shirts To Use

The Yankees are home this weekend against the Rays for both Father’s Day and of course, Old Timers’ Day. However on episode 07, we rewind to last week’s series at Citi Field. Dan Taylor was one of the guys I went to Flushing with following the Belmont Stakes on Saturday to see the Yanks defeat the Mets, so we’ll give you a full review of the Porsche Grille (formerly Acela Club). The dining area sits in left field at the Mets’ park, and we’ll breakdown everything from the menu to the price point to the view (which is pictured on the blog).

Then, speaking of Old Timers’ Day, maybe you have a bunch of old Yankees shirts that you don’t wear but don’t want to throw away? A number of podcast listeners have used Project Repat to turn the clothing into a brand new blanket. Nathan Rothstein is one of the company’s co-founders and chats with us about how they started the company, what they do and how you can turn those unused shirts in to a cool quilt of almost any size for you or a loved one (Father’s Day next year?).

As always, thanks for listening and remember to rate, review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts!

Episode 06: How To Buy Merch At A Discount, July 4th Gear, Citi Field Tips And More

We cover quite a bit in the latest episode of the podcast. Anthony Restaino, my best friend and fellow life-long Yankees fan, joins me from Western New York to co-host.

We kick things off by talking about the new “Stars and Stripes” collection that MLB will wear on-field for the Fourth of July. The Yankees’ apparel, specifically the hat, is particularly strong in the batch currently on sale. We then also compare tips on how to buy your favorite Yankees gear below retail and/or Stadium shop prices. Then, we look ahead to this weekend, talking about Yankee Stadium and Citi Field. The Yanks visit the Mets this weekend; Anthony and I will be at Saturday night’s game so I offer a few recommendations as far as tickets and food options at the ballpark.

As always, thank you for listening – and be sure to rate, review and subscribe on your favorite podcast service. Also, have a question or need help with something Yankees-related? Reach out on social media – we’re @PinstripeLanes everywhere!

Episode 05: Best Time To Buy On StubHub, Levi’s Merch, Baltimore Tips

Lots of tips and knowledge in episode 05 of the Pinstripe Lanes Podcast. First, I’ll fill you in on the Levi’s pop-up shop that took place in the Great Hall of the Stadium over Memorial Day Weekend and how using your Mastercard could have not only saved you money there, but how it can also still save you money in other parts of the ballpark. Plus, after extensive research, I’ll let you know the best time to buy tickets on StubHub prior to a home game. And finally, if you’re headed to Baltimore this weekend to check out the Yankees at Camden Yards, stick around until the end! I have great pre-and-post game recommendations for you along with an in-game tip on buying beer.

Episode 04: Legends Review, A Child’s First Game At The Stadium And More!

In this episode of the Pinstripe Lanes Podcast, I offer up a full review of my first (and probably last) time sitting in the Legends Seats at the Stadium. Plus, we answer a couple listener questions regarding bringing an 8 year-old to a game for his first time and what some of my pre-and-post game habits and spots are. This episode was taped while I was in Las Vegas; find out why by listening and be sure to rate, review and subscribe – thanks!
